Your Life - Ten Tests for Drunks - May 1939
This issue of Your Life: The Popular Guide to Desirable Living includes the article “Ten Tests for Drunks” by Wilfred Funk. This issue is from May 1939.
This is a one page article with ten questions for alcoholics to diagnose themselves alcoholic. This is an excellent article that gives some insight into the societal views of alcoholism and alcoholics in 1939. Here is an excerpt from the bottom of the page:
”You will not find the answers to this test in the back pages. If you’re an alcoholic you’re dishonest anyway, so pay no attention whatever to your score.”
The magazine is in good condition. There is some edge wear to the cover. Pages 81-84 have been torn out and are missing.
