First Issue, Alcoholics Anonymous Second Edition 1st Printing from 1955 with Original Dust Jacket.

This is the very special first issue of the Second Edition book that was released at the 1955 International Convention in St. Louis. This copy no longer has the “white band” with the book but can be identified as a first issue by the text on the back flap of the dust jacket. The jacket flap contains the extra paragraph of text about ordering the book from the publisher and examining within 7 days. This paragraph is only present on the first issue books released at the convention.

To authenticate this as a First Printing of the 2nd Edition, the following can be viewed: on page “xx” line 6, the word “really” is spelled incorrectly and spelled “realy”. Also, the dustjacket states AA Pub on the spine, and the bottom of page 16 shows 6,000 groups 1955.

This book is in very good condition. The cover has some minor wear. There is a book plate on the first page of the book. There are some pen markings on the contents page. There is no other writing or markings in the book. The dust jacket shows a bit of wear to the edges and appears to have been a sticker removed from the spine of the jacket.
