The Washington Pamphlet - Alcoholics Anonymous: An Interpretation of our Twelve Steps.
This is a First Printing of the booklet that was originally printed in Washington D.C.
This was the pamphlet was widely utilized in early AA Meetings as a step guide and for topic discussions. It is believed that the content and lessons inside the pamphlet were first used and practiced by an AA group in Detroit in 1943. The lessons made their way to a group in Washington D.C. The first printed version was sent to Detroit from Washington D.C. The Detroit Group then sent the pamphlet to a printing company with instructions to create an exact duplicate(except with a Detroit AA mailing address on the front cover).
This pamphlet immediately became very popular in the AA community, which led to reprints and similar versions of this booklet being published by AA Groups in cities around the U.S. This booklet was commonly referred to as the “Tablemate.”
This booklet is in very good condition. There is some edge wear and small tears to the front cover as well as the back cover. It is completely intact with no missing pages. There is some toning to the paper and rusted staples from age.
Please view all of the photos for the conditions.
