This is the 1936 Modern Library Edition of Varieties of Religious Experience by William James.

This book has a rich history in AA early days.  Bill W. Said that Ebby stoped by his hospital bed and gave him a copy this book. Of course this was also the book credited with leading Rowland Hazard to his conversion experience.

This book is in near mint condition and contains its original dust jacket. This is a true collectors copy - you don’t want to pass this one up. The only noticeable mark is on the spine of the dust jacket. There is no wear to the book, no writing or markings inside the book.

The Varieties of Religious Experience: A Study in Human Nature is a book by Harvard University psychologist and philosopher William James. It comprises his edited Gifford Lectures on natural theology, which were delivered at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland between 1901 and 1902. The lectures concerned the psychological study of individual private religious experiences and mysticism, and used a range of examples to identify commonalities in religious experiences across traditions.
